Accessibility
This site is built to work with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, and at high zoom. This page says what we have done, where we know it falls short, and how to tell us about a problem.
Last updated September 26, 2026.
Our goal
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We believe most of it does, but we have not had it audited by an outside specialist or tested with every screen reader, so we describe it as partially conformant rather than claim full conformance.
What we have done
- Every page declares its language, has a skip link, and uses headings in order.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
- Form fields have labels. When a form is refused, it says what went wrong, keeps what you typed, and marks the field that needs fixing.
- Text meets AA contrast. Pages reflow to a 320 pixel wide screen; wide tables scroll inside their own area.
- Color is not the only way anything is shown.
- On September 26, 2026 we checked 25 kinds of page with the axe-core automated tester and by keyboard alone.
Known limitations
- Listing photos and descriptions come from the MLS. They are written and uploaded by each listing's agent, not by us. Most listing photos have no description, so their text alternative says which photo it is and the address (for example "Photo 3 of 24"), not what the photo shows. The written facts on each listing page (price, bedrooms, bathrooms, size, features) are the same information in text.
- The listings map on area pages can be used with a keyboard: each pin can be reached with Tab and opened with Enter, and Escape closes it. Panning and zooming the map itself is visual. Every home on the map is also listed in text on the same page, so nothing is only on the map.
- Content from other services, such as map tiles, is provided by those services and may not meet the same standard.
